Traveling home to Illinois from NOLA in July 2024, my co-workers and I stopped here for lunch on a whim. It was wonderful and we knew we had to bring our large group to Cate Street in July 2025 when we were back in the area. We had a group of 25 and were allowed to make a reservation in advance (an easy process of requesting the reservation online, and then I was phoned later that day to confirm). We had 20 youth and 5 adults. The menu is extraordinary -- they have something for everyone (which is why we wanted to stop). About half of our group ordered sushi and it did not disappoint. The other half ordered from the menu (pasta, steak, salads, chicken). The high school youth ALL said it was delicious. I wish I lived closer, I'd eat their sushi every week!! The owner stopped by our table and talked with us for quite a while. He was genuinely nice and asked a lot of questions about our group and our travels. If my travels ever take me back to Louisiana, I'd stop by in a heartbeat.

Me and my friend came to get some sushi and it was absolutely amazing on top of that. We got the spinach dip. I also loved our server Blake Thonn!! He was amazing.

Wife and I absolutely loved our dining experience here. The “sides” are HUGE!!! Her grilled zucchini spears were on another level. Our sushi rolls were great, spicy food wimps like me(🤣)beware, the green wasabi dollop that come on the plate is HOT!!!!, I used the smallest amount and could feel the heat lol. The desert that we chose was the “Happy Ending”, fried bread pudding and brownie drizzled in caramel & chocolate syrup sauce, along with a small scoop of ice cream!!! Decadent on the taste buds. The have a crazy nice plethora of sushi options. Patrons can choose to sit at their sushi bar top and watch the people make meals, saw them interacting with guests as they rolled.

Fun atmosphere, good music, and kind servers. Was there for a friend's birthday and we got a private room for our party. Even when they were packed we got timely updates on our food, frequent drink refills, and GREAT service. The food was delicious and the time shared with friends was irreplaceable.
